Review of Tuvalu Maritime Delimitation Boundaries Data An independent quality review was undertaken for the Tuvalu's maritime delimitation boundaries data. The Secretariat communicated all relevant information to the Tuvalu authorities upon completion of the review and future options were discussed. A workshop [ Technical Aspects of Maritime Boundaries Delimitation Workshop] to familiarise member countries with country-specific data and information; the Pacific Islands Regional Maritime Boundaries Information System; and the software Marzone, took place on the 11th and 12th of March 2004. Regional Maritime Boundaries Delimitation Project: Inception Phase The twelve month Inception Phase of the AusAID funded Regional Maritime Boundaries Delimitation Project, commenced in January 2002. Activities include the successful transfer of existing data and information from the FFA Solomon Islands - based Maritime Boundaries Project to the SOPAC Secretariat and the subsequent exercise of cataloging and carrying out preliminary data validation assessments of these. Revision of Swath Mapping Survey Report TAG recommended that the document ( Swath Mapping areas in the EEZ's of Tonga, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands & PNG) be revised by Techsec, taking into consideration changes and additions suggested by TAG and that the revised document be distributed to all TAG advisors and other appropriate persons concerned with possible future swath mapping cruises in the SOPAC region, as soon as possible after the 19th Session. Regional Maritime Boundaries Project Consultation, Tuvalu A Regional Maritime Boundaries Project Consultation was held at the Mocambo Hotel in Nadi, Fiji, from Wednesday, 24th April to Friday, 26th April 2002. Thirty-one participants, representing twelve Pacific coastal States participated in the meeting. Tuvalu was represented by Mr Lutelu Faavae, Mr Fanoanoaga Patoro & Mr Malaki Tihala. The aim of the consultation was to gauge the commitment of Pacific Island States to maritime boundaries delimitation and to review, amend and determine priorities within the project design document.
